The Land Bank Agency signed a cooperation agreement (PKS) with PT Timah Tbk, on Thursday (9/11/2023). This collaboration, which was witnessed directly by the Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning (ATR)/Head of BPN and Forkompida and signed by the Head of the Land Bank Agency and the Main Director of PT Timah Tbk, aims to resolve land rights in the Mining Business Permit (IUP) area.

Minister of ATR/Head of BPN, Hadi Tjahjanto, said that currently many of PT Timah’s Mining Business Permit (IUP) areas overlap with land with Expired Cultivation Rights (HGU), and there is still land use by the community, which is the background for this collaboration. . Therefore, PT Timah is obliged to settle the rights to the land by carrying out a certification.

Minister Hadi also appreciated PT Timah’s efforts in providing certainty for the continuity of the company’s business without worrying about being haunted by land problems.

“Because of that, PT Timah invites the Ministry of ATR/BPN and the Land Bank Agency to collaborate in carrying out land certification and utilization. So that the PT Timah IUP area can be protected from things that cannot be controlled in the future,” said Hadi in Bangka Belitung, Thursday (9/11/2023).

In the same place, the Head of the Land Bank Agency, Parman Nataatmadja, said that the signing of this PKS was a form of commitment to the Land Bank Agency as a special agency (sui generis) which was given the task of managing land for the public interest, social interests, national development interests, economic equality, land consolidation and agrarian reform.

“Through this collaboration we will provide legal certainty of land rights above PT Timah’s IUP,” explained Parman.

Parman expressed his gratitude for the support of the Ministry of ATR, Regional Office of BPN Bangka Belitung, PT Timah and also other stakeholders who were involved.

Meanwhile, the President Director of PT Timah, Ahmad Dani Virsal welcomed this signing. As a state-owned company, PT Timah needs to optimize its assets. This collaboration, said Dani, is expected to further encourage harmonization between PT Timah, the Ministry of ATR/BPN, and also the Land Bank Agency.

“Hopefully in the future, what we are trying to do today can have a positive impact on the Babel Islands and the progress of the nation and state,” he concluded.
