Jakarta, 26 June 2024 – The Land Bank Authority signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with PT Bank JTrust Indonesia Tbk (J Trust Bank) and PT J Trust Consulting Indonesia for the utilization of one of the Land Bank Authority’s lands located in Penajam Paser Utara (PPU), East Kalimantan Province.

Through this memorandum of understanding, J Trust Consulting Indonesia was appointed as a partner of the Land Bank Authority, with an exclusive mandate to introduce and handle investors from Japan who will invest in the Land Bank Authority’s land management rights (HPL) area. Meanwhile, J Trust Bank will support Japanese investors in financial aspects.

Head of the Implementing Body of the Land Bank Authority, Parman Nataatmadja, welcomed the signing of the MoU with J Trust Consulting Indonesia and J Trust Bank. This collaboration will further strengthen the already well-established economic relations between Indonesia and Japan.

“We really hope that Japan will become a friend who also invests in Indonesia, especially in the Land Bank Authority’s HPL. “This is in line with our efforts to create inclusive cooperation and provide wider economic benefits for the Indonesian people, especially those in our HPL area and surrounding areas,” said Parman.

The HPL of the Land Bank Authority which is currently being developed, namely the Penajam Eco City project, is in Penajam Paser Utara (PPU), East Kalimantan Province. This area is one of the Land Bank Authority’s land inventory assets out of a total area of ​​18,758 Ha throughout Indonesia.

This eco city concept offers a healthy, environmentally friendly and sustainable city. This concept teaches returning to nature and saving energy, encouraging cities to provide as much green open space as possible, and balanced city management in environmental, economic, natural resource and human aspects. Eco cities not only expand green space, are energy efficient, but human behavior in them is also a concern.

“We want to participate in creating justice in the land sector and creating a just economy in the PPU, but we cannot do it alone. Therefore, we are collaborating with J Trust Consulting Indonesia and J Trust Bank to invite Japanese investors to invest there and in our other HPLs in the future. Creating jobs and becoming a beacon for economic growth in Indonesia. “So that the two countries can become the driving force for Asia’s economic progress,” he said. 2

The Land Bank Authority is a special Authority formed by the central government and given the authority to guarantee the availability of land in the framework of a just economy for the public interest, social interests, national development interests, economic equality, land consolidation and agrarian reform.

President Director of J Trust Consulting Indonesia, Takeshi Ikeda explained “J Trust Consulting Indonesia is present in Indonesia to provide consulting services such as business matching and marketing by utilizing the knowledge and experience of the global J Trust Group.

“Through this MoU with the Land Bank Authority, we can contribute to the Indonesian economy and support the development of the new National Capital and of course the development of economic programs and activities from Japanese investors.”

J Trust Bank as a financial institution that is part of this MoU is ready to provide support in the form of Japanese standard banking services such as financing to investors through its 46 branch offices spread across major cities in Indonesia.
