Providing Legal Certainty and Economic Benefits, Farmers in Poso Support Agrarian Reform on Land Bank Authority’s HPL
Jakarta, 7 May 2024 – Agrarian reform is one of the government’s agendas under President Jokowi in an effort to develop Indonesia evenly and improve the quality of life of the people themselves. There are three noble ideals in the agrarian reform program, namely reorganizing the unequal agrarian structure to make it fair, resolving agrarian conflicts, and improving the welfare of the people after the agrarian reform is implemented.
Agrarian reform fundamentally provides programs that can resolve the problem of poverty in rural communities, improve welfare with national food independence, increase land productivity, provide recognition of land rights owned by individuals, the state, and public land whose use is to fulfill the interests of the community. .
The Land Bank Agency, as an extension of the government, is committed to supporting these efforts. As a special agency (sui generis) formed by the central government, the Land Bank Agency has a mandate to ensure the availability of land, one of which is for agrarian reform.
This mandate has been implemented by the Land Bank Agency by providing land for agrarian reform, one of which is in Poso, Central Sulawesi, covering an area of 1,550 Ha.
Deputy for Utilization and Business Cooperation, Hakiki Sudrajat recently made a working visit to the HPL Land Bank Agency in Poso. This visit was in order to inspect the location of agrarian reform as well as commercial and tourism use areas.
“In terms of agrarian reform above the Land Bank Agency’s HPL, of course we want to speed up its implementation. This will provide excellent benefits to society. “From the commercial side, we want to ensure that the land that will be used by potential investors is 100 percent ready for use,” said Hakiki in a press release, Tuesday (7/5/2024).
Furthermore, commercial use of the Land Bank Agency’s HPL will create jobs and support economic equality in the surrounding area.
In connection with agrarian reform, Deputy Hakiki has also held meetings with communities around the HPL. His party conveyed directly the efforts that had been made by the Land Bank Agency to accelerate the implementation of agrarian reform on the Land Bank Agency’s HPL.
“We ensure that acceleration efforts continue to be carried out. The response from the community here is also good and supports our efforts. “Our land is 100 percent ready, just waiting for follow-up from GTRA,” he said.
Meanwhile, Poso Land Bank Agency Project Team Leader, Mahendra Wahyu, added that his party was proactively communicating with the Regent as Chair of the Agrarian Reform Task Force (GTRA).
“We continue to communicate with relevant stakeholders to accelerate the implementation of agrarian reform on the HPL of the Land Bank Agency,” he said.
In a meeting with Deputy Hakiki and the Poso Project Team, one of the residents from the Napu Valley expressed his hopes to the Land Bank Agency. They emphasized that they were ready to implement the provisions of the Land Bank Agency and GTRA in the agrarian reform program.
“We really hope that the agrarian reform program on the HPL of the Land Bank Agency will be implemented soon. “So that we can calmly carry out agricultural activities which are the livelihood of many people here,” he explained.
For information, the Land Bank Agency provides 1,550 Ha of land for the agrarian reform program above the Land Bank Agency’s HPL out of a total land area of 6,655.47 Ha. This area has great potential to be developed from the plantation sector with the main commodities being cocoa, coconut, Arabica coffee, robusta coffee, cloves, pepper and tea.
