Jakarta, 25 April 2024 – The Land Bank Agency signed a memorandum of understanding (Memorandum of Understanding) with the Indonesian National Police (Polri) regarding synergy in implementing duties and functions in the field of land management in Jakarta, Tuesday (24/4/2024).
Head of the Land Bank Agency, Parman Nataatmadja, said that this synergy is in order to support the duties and functions of the Land Bank Agency, especially related to land management for development in the public interest, social interests, national development interests, economic equality, land consolidation and agrarian reform.
“This MoU can be a basis for the Land Bank Agency and the National Police to optimize their duties and functions,” said Parman in his written statement, Thursday (25/4/2024).
Parman emphasized that this MoU is also a form of the Land Bank Agency’s seriousness in preventing the emergence of irresponsible elements in the land sector. Moreover, the Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning (ATR/Head of BPN), Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) is committed to eradicating the land mafia.
“The land assets that we have acquired must of course be secured from irresponsible elements. And no less important are the problems caused by the land mafia, which are detrimental to society and detrimental to the country. “We support Minister AHY in eradicating this,” said Parman.
Land security, said Parman, is also carried out to guarantee community rights and provide certainty for investors.
“Because in the HPL Land Bank Agency there are also community rights through Agrarian Reform, then there are investors who we also have to give certainty to. “Because if investors want to buy land, the most difficult thing is because there are land brokers,” explained Parman.
The Land Bank Agency is a special agency (sui generis) formed by the government to guarantee the availability of land in the context of a just economy, both for public interests, social interests, national development interests, economic equality, land consolidation and also Agrarian Reform.
Until the end of 2023, the Land Bank Agency has managed a total land area of 18,478 Ha, of which 1,873 Ha in North Penajam Paser (PPU), 203 Ha in Cianjur and 1,550 Ha in Poso, will be handed over to the rightful communities through the Agrarian Reform program.
