To help overcome the housing backlog, the Land Bank Authority signs an MoU with the Ministry of PUPR, BTN and PT SMF
Jakarta, 16 May 2024 – The Land Bank Authority signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), PT Bank Tabungan Negara Tbk (BTN) and PT Sarana Multigriya Finansial (Persero) regarding the synergy of housing development and financing.
Head of the Land Bank Agency, Parman Nataatmadja, said that this collaboration is the Land Bank Agency’s commitment to supporting the government’s program in building cheap houses for low-income people (MBR) as a strategy to overcome the problem of housing availability (backlog).
The residential backlog figure in Indonesia is still very high. Referring to data from the PUPR Ministry, currently 12.7 million housing units are still needed to realize Indonesia’s zero backlog.
“Of course, we also want to provide cheap housing financing for the community, also in order to improve their welfare. “Because now there is a fairly large backlog of around 11-12 million,” said Parman in his speech, Thursday (16/5/2024).
Parman explained that the Land Bank Agency contributed to overcoming the residential backlog by providing land for housing for low-income people.
“This is in line with the duties and functions of the Land Bank Agency in ensuring the availability of land in the context of a just economy for the public interest, one of which is,” he explained.
Deputy for Utilization and Business Cooperation, Hakiki Sudrajat, said that the Land Bank Agency provides land to build MBR housing at affordable utilization rates. Later, people who live in MBR housing above the HPL of the Land Bank Agency will receive a certificate of ownership (SHM) after 10 years.
“For MBR housing, after 10 years it can be released into ownership,” he said.
Meanwhile, Director General (Dirjen) of Public Works and Housing Infrastructure Financing Herry Trisaputra Zuna said that providing MBR housing to overcome the backlog has become easier thanks to support from the Land Bank Agency. He hopes that developers and credit disbursing banks will become
more effective and efficient in providing MBR housing and attracting consumers.
“If the land was provided by the Land Bank Agency, 60 percent of the problem should have been resolved. “The price has also become more affordable,” said Herry.
Regional Secretary (Sekda) Kendal, Ir. Sugiono, M.T, who was also present at this activity, said that the Kendal Regional Government firmly supports this collaboration. His party is ready to provide support and facilitate the efforts carried out by the Land Bank Agency. Ministry of PUPR, BTN, PT SMF and stakeholders related to the provision of MBR houses in overcoming the residential backlog.
“The aim of this collaboration is very good, namely to provide access to decent home ownership for people belonging to the MBR group. This is also an effort by the government together with other stakeholders to improve the quality of life of the community. So we have to really support this,” he concluded.
