Government Disburses Compensation for Communities Affected by VVIP IKN Airport Development Project

Jakarta, 27 February 2024 – Acting Regent of North Penajam Paser (PPU) Makmur Marbun together with the Land Bank Agency, Ministry of PUPR, Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) and the East Kalimantan Province Integrated Team (Kaltim), today, Tuesday (27/02/2024) , handed over the costs of compensation or compensation for planting growth in phase I to the communities affected by the Very Very Important Person (VVIP) Airport construction project at the PIJ Building, PPU.
Head of the Land Bank Agency, Parman Nataatmadja welcomed the process of handing over the compensation. According to him, the handover of this compensation is one of the efforts to support the acceleration of the construction of the IKN Very Very Important Person (VVIP) Airport which is under the Land Bank Agency’s Land Management Rights (HPL).
Parman added that from the start the Land Bank Agency was committed to supporting it, however, it also continued to pay attention to the affected communities by preparing land for relocation.
“The greatest appreciation of course goes to the Acting Regent of PPU and staff, the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of PUPR, the East Kalimantan Province Integrated Team and also especially to the Land Bank Agency Project Team at PPU.
“The Agrarian Reform process is currently underway, but on the one hand, the social impact of the Integrated Team has provided compensation to the community. The construction of the IKN VVIP airport will of course still pay attention to community rights,” he explained.
Meanwhile, PPU Project Manager, Syafran Zamzami said, the people affected by the VVIP IKN Airport project will not only receive compensation, but also replacement land located outside the airport area.
The Land Bank Agency has prepared 400 hectares of land for the relocation of residents affected by the construction of IKN supporting infrastructure. The areas affected by the construction of the VVIP IKN Airport are Maridan, Gersik and Lango Beach sub-districts.

Syafran said that the Land Bank Agency is not only preparing relocation land for people who are entitled to it, but also road access for the community.
